I am a personal trainer. I have set up my consulting service on Ibiza to help both residents and tourists achieve their personal fitness goals. There are different approaches to training that appeal to my clients. It really depends on what they want to look like or be able to do after the first few weeks or months of training. My clients range from retirees who need to stay heart-healthy to young athletes training for specific competitions. BOOT CAMP WORKOUT
When a client comes to me and tells me that he or she wants to do workouts that will burn the most calories, I am inclined to suggest this program. A typical workout may only burn 200 to 300 calories in an hour. If you want to burn 400 to 700 calories, you must increase the physical demands on your body and work out smarter. I can coach you into getting the maximum results from each exercise and from the entire routine. I can also tweak your routine during each session so that you don’t rest too much or hit a plateau in your performance. We have to keep building your routine to a higher intensity level if you want to reach your goals!
DESIGNING BOOT CAMP WORKOUTS
It helps to think of a boot camp workout as a circuit training program. We are going to move from exercise to exercise and spend only a small amount of time at each station. We are going to challenge you to give your best effort in each time interval, which could be about one minute per station. Each exercise will be very heavy in terms of cardiovascular demand. There will also only be a short rest period between each exercise. Some weights may be used but not excessively. If you are working out at this pace, you could get hurt if I don’t teach you the proper technique. The key to boot camp workouts is focusing on your tone and form while keeping up the pace. Once you’ve learned each element of the routine, you can progress through the workout multiple times in the same session. The latter rotations should feel more challenging as your body gets tired. Maintaining the high intensity and meeting my cardiovascular demands will keep you in the boot camp mindset.
COACHING MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
During each rotation, you will have the build-up to the exercise, the physical movement, and the rest period. I will help you count down before you begin, prompt you so that you’ll keep going strong over each one-minute interval, and then tell you when to rest. You must stay focused to reach the desired intensity level.
I can roughly estimate how many calories you will burn during each rotation through the circuit. If you push yourself, you can exceed 500 calories per hour, but this level may not be feasible until you get into better shape. We can build endurance and cardiovascular capacity at the same time.
FITNESS BOOT CAMP
If you want to get fit rapidly and drop your weight, you must be willing to up your intensity and change your diet. We have to work together to cut your calories and burn more calories with each workout. The net result will be a slimmer, stronger you with more confidence and endurance.
BOOT CAMP FOR WEIGHT LOSS
Weight loss is an important goal to establish for yourself when you start working with a personal trainer. This often comes when people are preparing for a new role in a film or planning their dream wedding. I am going to always err on the side of good sense. Weight loss is not something to pursue at the risk of injury or exhaustion. I can teach you how to use weight, resistance, range of motion exercises, gravity, and other little tricks to put yourself through a more intense workout. Fatigue is going to happen during the workout, especially if you’ve been less active recently, but we must keep you hydrated and full of energy to attain your weight loss goals.
BOOT CAMP EXERCISES
There are numerous boot camp exercises that we can add to your personal fitness training plan that will make you sweat and tire easily. These exercises will definitely strain your muscles, deplete your cardiovascular capacity, and test your endurance. However, you don’t need to overstrain your muscles by doing too many repetitions of the same exercise or lift too much weight for your current level of strength. Generally, I am going to keep the intensity high by adjusting things such as how high you lift your arms and legs during exercises, how far you extend, how much resistance you must work against, and how fast or hard you must work to perform a task. By working out the smart way with your trainer pushing you, boot camp exercises can help you slim down faster.
If you’ve ever known someone who joins the gym in January and stops going in February, it’s the same with personal training and weight loss bootcamp. It’s easy for people to lose their motivation. I always feel bad for those gym clients who pay for so many training sessions and never use them all. They start out with the right mindset, but life gets in the way.
